NoCrap is built and run by Seven Bells Digital Limited, an Irish company registered in Ireland (company number 816816). We are the data controller — meaning we are the ones responsible for your data and the ones you can hold to account for it.

You can scan and use NoCrap without an account. If you do sign in, we may collect: your email address, your county or region, the products you scan and their NoCrap ratings, items you save to your shopping list, and dietary preferences you tell us about.
If you scan a shopping receipt, we save the items on it so we can show Irish producers what people are actually buying. You can delete your purchase history at any time.
If you log a price, we save the price, the shop and the town — so other families can find a better deal nearby. We do not track your location, and the app never asks for it.
If you turn on notifications, we store a notification code for your device so we can send you recall alerts.
You can also choose to tell us your age range and sex under “My Details”. Both are completely optional, you can clear them whenever you like, and we never guess or work them out from your behaviour — if you don’t tell us, we don’t know. We use them only to show producers who their customers are.
Kids using NoCrap Quest are never asked to sign in and no personal data is collected from them.
If you run a food business with a NoCrap business account, we also store the email address we approved for you, which Local Heroes listing it belongs to, and the deals you post — photos, description, price and dates. Deals are only shown to shoppers after we approve them.
Our goal is to build a local, community-based shopping experience for families. By understanding what people are buying — and what better alternatives exist closer to home — we can connect families directly with local producers and suppliers, from small start-ups right through to established brands. Your data helps make that connection possible.
Your data helps us show you more relevant local alternatives, improve the product database, and understand what shoppers are buying in your area. We never sell your data to third parties.

One honest exception, so this is not a promise we quietly break: things you contributed to the shared database — prices you logged, ingredient corrections, product reports and products you submitted — are not deleted, because other families rely on them. Instead your name comes off them completely, so they can no longer be connected to you.
